Mr. Lewin was appointed Deputy Managing Director of ACE Tempest Re Europe in June 2007. Located in London, Mr. Lewin reports to Matthew Shaw, Managing Director, ACE Tempest Re Europe, and serves as the deputy head of ACE Tempest Re's operations throughout Europe.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Lewin served as President and Chief Executive Officer, ACE Tempest Re Bermuda, responsible for the management of ACE Tempest Re property and casualty operations in Bermuda.
Previously, Mr. Lewin served as Chief Underwriting Officer, US Property, ACE Tempest Re Bermuda. Mr. Lewin joined the company in April 1998, as Vice President Underwriting US Property, when Cat Ltd. was acquired by ACE Limited. He began his reinsurance career with Cat Ltd. in 1994 as a catastrophe model analyst.
Mr. Lewin, a Bermudian, holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston and the Associate in Reinsurance designation (ARe).
