Mr. Bérard was Chair of the board of National Bank of Canada (chartered bank) from 2002 to March 2004, and Chair of the board and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Canada from 1990 to March 2002. He holds a Fellow’s Diploma of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and was Chair of the Executive Council of the Canadian Bankers’ Association from 1986 to 1988. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1995.
Mr. Bérard is a director on the BCE board since January, 2003. He is also a member of the Audit Committee, as well as the Corporate Governance Committee.
