Alvin Liu has a wide-ranging litigation practice that includes representing clients in controversies involving accountants' liability, intellectual property, administrative law and numerous other matters. On behalf of a national accounting firm he has provided counsel in securities litigation, including class action lawsuits and derivative suits, as well as government investigations. Alvin also does extensive work in the health care field, having represented pharmaceutical companies and health care manufacturers in patent litigation and advised a nursing home provider in consumer protection litigation and administrative proceedings before the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
In other commercial litigation, Alvin has represented individuals, associations and small businesses in contracts, property, trademark, insurance, lease, partnership and malpractice disputes. His pro bono work includes representing a tenant in housing discrimination litigation, and representing refugees in claims for political asylum.
