Al Bucknam joined Plug Power Inc. in July 1997 as Director of Strategy and Business Development and was appointed Vice President in November 2004. Mr. Bucknam is responsible for the company’s corporate strategy, strategic partnerships and merger and acquisition activities.
Prior to joining Plug Power, Mr. Bucknam served for more than ten years with Ryder System, Inc., where his most recent position was Field Finance Director in the company’s largest operating division, Transportation Services. While at Ryder, he held several management positions in the field operations, finance and corporate and strategic planning areas, and served on a team that contributed over $100 million in profit improvement initiatives.
Mr. Bucknam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Middlebury College, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He is a member of the Parsons Child and Family Center support team at Plug Power.
