After graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a mechanical engineer in 1975, Mr. Teran joined NASA during an exciting time in the history of the space program. He moved up the ranks to project engineer for the construction of shuttle facilities. He was directly responsible for over $150 million in funding and learned early the value of on time and under budget delivery of projects.
In 1984, he joined EG&G Florida, a technology goods and services company, where he founded a new division called Engineering and Technical Services (ENTEC) to perform engineering services for commercial aerospace contractors. As vice president and director of this extremely technical and aggressive division of EG&G, Mr. Teran engineered and developed the ground infrastructure to support the massive program.
Mr. Teran founded AJT & Associates in 1988 with three other engineers that had worked for him at ENTEC. Alfredoís enviable record of performance has led AJT to thousands of projects, including contracts for NASA and the USAF.
Mr. Teranís experience in aerospace engineering directed AJTís initial focus on developing a unique expertise in areas involving air traffic control towers and communications systems, aerospace facilities engineering and design and systems engineering and controls. His extensive knowledge and ability in these fields has solidified AJT as one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in Florida.
Utilizing his background in environmental engineering, Mr. Teran developed proprietary and patented water and wastewater treatment systems, holding 14 patents in the field. His innovative ideas and dedication to their execution has positioned AJT as the industry leader in mobile isolation facilities, mobile labs and medical testing, leading his companyís expansion into Europe and Latin America.
