Alfred G. Calkins is a full-time dairy farmer and director from Area 6. Active in local, state and national Holstein associations, Calkins is well known in local farming groups. He is an avid sportsman. Other hobbies include archery and trap shooting. Calkins and his wife Sharon have two sons, Ryan and Randy.

Calkins states, "I believe that I have the vision to help Tri-County maintain stable rates and keep the cooperative financially sound through decisions made by the board. I want to be able to put Tri-County in a competitive position for the future electric market place."

Calkins is also a board member for C and T Enterprises, Wilderness Area Utilities and Wellsboro Electric Company.

District 6 includes Armenia, Columbia, Granville, Troy, Springfield, West Burlington, Sullivan, and Ward townships.
