Albert L. Lord is a member of Seneca Ridge Management LLC an investment company 2005 present. He was named chairman of SLM Corporation in March 2005 after serving as vice chairman and chief executive officer 1997 - 2005. From 1994 to 1997 he was president and principal shareholder of LCL Ltd. an investment and financial consulting firm. From 1981 to 1994 Mr. Lord held several executive positions at Sallie Mae including COO. Under Mr. Lord's leadership Sallie Mae created specialized subsidiaries and divisions that also provide an array of consumer credit loans including those for lifelong learning and K-12 education and business and technical outsourcing services for colleges and universities. Mr. Lord is on the Board of Directors of BearingPoint Inc. He is director of the National Academy Foundation and Children's Choice Learning Centers Inc.
