Alan graduated from St. Joseph High School in Jackson and attended Mississippi State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and was a Dean’s List scholar. Upon his graduation, Alan joined the staff of a large, local accounting firm where he attained the position of audit manager. A large portion of his work included audits of entities receiving federal funding. He was also responsible for many different types of audit engagements. After operating his own accounting practice for over ten years, Alan joined the Grantham Randall firm, which eventually became GranthamPoole. As a partner in the firm, Alan is director of the company’s auditing department. Alan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has served on the society’s accounting and auditing committee.
