Ake Persson - Chairman of the Board of Directors, SKY MobileMedia Ake Persson is currently active as a private investor in the wireless and telecommunications industries, and advisor and management coach with board assignments including Axesstel Inc. (Amex: AFT) and DragonWave Inc. Ake is also a member of the Advisory Board at UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. Ake comes to the Board of Directors of SKY MobileMedia with over 34 years of experience in the industry. From 1999 until his retirement in February, 2004, Mr. Persson was the President of Ericsson's CDMA Systems Business Unit, and President of Ericsson Wireless Communications in San Diego. Ake has established and successfully managed several business units of Ericsson’s. He was the first General Manager of Ericsson's cellular business, and the leader and driving force behind its early global success. Later, as General Manager of the Voice and Data Systems Division, he developed wireless packet data technology that was deployed in more than 30 countries around the world. Prior to moving to San Diego in 1999, Ake was responsible for all Marketing, Sales and Communications activities, globally, for Ericsson's fast growing and very successful wireless systems business. During 1990-1991, Ake served on the executive team of Ram Mobile Data Inc., a New York based wireless carrier, which deployed the first true nationwide wireless packet data network in the United States. The company was subsequently sold to Bell South. Ake has served as board member and chairman of several Ericsson companies around the world, and has been instrumental in the forming strategic business alliances with other leading vendors and partners in the telecom and IT industries.
