Dr. Sarofim has served as Senior Technical Advisor to Reaction Engineering International in Salt Lake City. He is also Presidential Professor in the Department of Chemical and Fuels Engineering at REI. He has carried out research on radiative heat transfer, furnace design, circulation patterns in glass melts, the freeze process for desalination, nitric oxide formation in combustion systems, combustion generated aerosols, soot and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon formation, and the characterization of carbon structure and reactivity. He serves as a general consultant to REI and its customers in areas related to the performance and emissions from a variety of industrial processes. Education Sc.
