The group's principal activities is to manufacture industrial and consumer packaging products and to provide packaging services with 295 locations in 32 countries. The group operates in two segments: industrial packaging and consumer packaging. The industrial packaging segment includes engineered carriers, paper, molded and extruded plastics, wire and cable reels and protective packaging. The consumer packaging segment includes rigid packaging, closures, printed flexible packaging, packaging services and folding cartons, glass covers and coasters and artwork management. The group's products are marketed worldwide under the trademarks sonoco(R), sonotube(R), safe-top(R), sealed safe(R), duro(R) and durox(r). The group sold its high density film business in 2003. On 28-May-2004, the group acquired corrflex graphics llc.
