It operates through four segments: Southern California Gas, San Diego Gas & Electric, Sempra Energy Trading and Sempra Energy Resources. Southern California gas is a natural gas distribution utility, servicing customers in southern California and central California. San Diego Gas & Electric provides electric and natural gas service to San Diego and southern Orange Counties. Sempra Energy Trading is a wholesale trader of physical and financial energy products and other commodities in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. Sempra Energy Resources develops, owns and operates power plants and natural gas storage, production and transportation facilities within the western United States, Baja, California and Mexico.
