The group's principal activity is to provide investment and related financial services to individuals, institutional investors, broker/dealers, corporations, governmental entities and financial intermediaries. The group operates through three divisions: brokerage, asset management and banking. Brokerage group provides clearing services to over 225 correspondent broker/dealers and over 400 independent contract brokers. Asset management group offers asset management services through sws capital corporation, which administers the local government investment cooperative fund. Banking group offers full-service traditional banking and Internet banking through its subsidiaries. The group also provides Internet services, network design and engineering and disaster recovery services. The westwood holdings group, inc. Spun-off from the group in 2002. Brokerage group accounted for 81% of fiscal 2003 revenues; banking group, 18%; asset management group, 1% and other, nom.
