The group's principal activity is to provide financial services through the production, distribution and administration of insurance and investment products. The group operates through five segments: life marketing, acquisitions, annuities, stable value products and asset protection. The life marketing segment markets level premium term and term-like insurance, universal life, variable universal life and bank owned life insurance products on a national basis. The acquisitions segment acquires, converts and services policies acquired from other companies. The annuities segment manufactures, sells and supports fixed and variable annuity products. The stable value products segment markets guaranteed investment contracts to 401(k) and other qualified retirement savings plans. The asset protection segment markets extended service contracts and credit life and disability insurance to protect consumers' investments in automobiles and watercraft.
