The group's principal activities are to manufacture and market filtration and separation products and systems. The two principal markets of the group are life sciences and industrial. The operations of the group are carried out through five segments. Medical includes disposable blood filtration and cardiovascular filtration products. Biopharmaceuticals includes separation systems and disposable filters. General industrial includes filters, coalescers, and separation systems for hydraulic, fuel and lubrication systems on manufacturing equipment. Aerospace includes filtration products, fluid monitoring equipment and shipboard water/waste water filtration products. Microelectronics includes disposable filtration products to producers of semiconductors, computer terminals, fiber optics, disc drives, thin film rigid discs, and photographic film. On 4-Mar-2003 the group acquired certain assets of whatman hemasure inc.
