The group's principal activity is to manufacture and sell steel and steel products. The group operates in two segments: steel mills and steel products. Products of the steel mill segment includes hot-rolled steel (angles, rounds, flats, channels, sheet, wide-flange beams, pilings, billets, blooms, beam blanks and plate) and cold-rolled steel. Products of steel product segment includes steel joists and joist girders and steel deck, cold finished steel, steel fasteners. These products are sold to general contractors and fabricators throughout the United States. In 2004, the group acquired one-half interest in harris steel inc.
