The group's principal activities are to manufacture and market specialty chemicals and related services. The group operates through two segments: performance products and engineered materials and additives. The performance products comprised of pulp and paper and aqualon. Pulp and paper supplies functional, process and water management chemicals for the pulp and paper industry. Aqualon are designed to manage the properties of aqueous (water-based) systems. Engineered materials and additives consist of fibervisions and pinova. Fibervisions produces monocomponent polypropylene fibers and bicomponent fibers comprised of a polypropylene core and a polyethylene sheath. Pinova manufactures wood and gum rosin resins and terpene specialties. The group's products are used by paper industry to increase product performance and to enhance their manufacturing process.
