The group's principal activity is to provides property and casualty insurance coverages, underwriting agency and intermediary services to its cutomers. The group's activities are carried out through four segments: the insurance division provides insurance coverages that include group life, accident and health, aviation, energy, marine, property, global financial products and other lines of insurance. The underwriting operations include insurance underwriting management and claims administration services. The intermediary division provides a wide range of services that include marketing, placing, consulting on and servicing insurance risks for clients and customers. The other operations consist of insurance related services offered to the group's subsidiaries, reinsurers and unaffiliated entities. On 01-Jul-2003, the group acquired Covenant Underwriters Limited and Continental Underwriters Limited and on 31-Jan-2004, Surety Associates Holding Co.,Inc.
