The group's principal activity is to design, develop, manufacture, market and support surface conditioning equipment. The equipment is used in the fabrication of microelectronics such as advanced semiconductor devices and thin film heads. The group operates in two divisions: surface conditioning division and polaris systems and supply services division. The surface conditioning division markets and services equipment that uses wet, vapor, cryogenic and other chemistry techniques to clean, strip or etch the surfaces of silicon wafers. The polaris systems and supply services division supplies photoresist processing equipment and services for the semiconductor and thin film head markets. The group markets its products in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Japan, primarily through two affiliated distributors.
