The group's principal activities are the manufacture, processing and distribution of steel and aluminium products and the provision of design, technology and consultancy services for those products. It produces steel by the basic oxygen steelmaking method at three integrated steelworks in the United Kingdom at port talbot, scunthorpe and teesside, and at one in the Netherlands at ijmuiden. The group also produces primary aluminium in two smelters at delfzijl in the Netherlands and voerde in Germany. Aluminium rolling mills are located at koblenz in Germany, duffel in Belgium and cap-de-la-madeleine in Canada. Aluminium extrusions operations are located in Germany, Belgium and in China. On 17-Apr-2003, the group disposed corus aluminium service centers inc.
