The group's principal activity is to manufacture reinforced plastics. Reinforced plastics are combinations of resins and reinforcing fibers that are molded to shapes. The group produces reinforced plastics by compression molding sheet molding compound (smc) in a closed mold process in its columbus, Ohio and gaffney, South Carolina facilities. The group also produces reinforced plastic products by spray-up and hand-lay-up open mold processes and a vacuum assisted resin infused closed mold process. The group supplies reinforced plastic products to truck manufacturers, to automotive manufacturers and to manufacturers of commercial products. The four major customers are international truck & engine corporation, yamaha motor manufacturing corporation, lear corporation and freightliner, llc. The group markets its products in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
