The group's principal activity is to provide services to process and sell salvage vehicles to vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies. It offers on-line supplier access services through copart access, an Internet-based service that enable suppliers to assign vehicles for auction, check auction calendars, view vehicle images and history, view and reprint body shop invoices and towing receipts and view the historical performance of the vehicles sold at auctions. Copart finder is an Internet search engine, which enables users to locate used vehicle parts. The group also provides salvage estimation services and transportation services. The group's services are provided to licensed vehicle dismantlers, rebuilders, repair licensees and used vehicle dealers. The group operates in the United States. It acquired greater pittsburgh auto auction inc, ewe salvage pool auto auction inc and richmond auto auction of Virginia inc in fiscal 2003.
