The group's principal activities are to design, develop, manufacture and market microcatheter systems for the mapping and ablation of cardiac arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are abnormal electrical heart rhythms that adversely affect the mechanical activities of the heart and can significantly affect a person's quality of life and be potentially fatal. The microcatheter systems are designed to locate and provide more extensive and less traumatic access to arrhythmia-causing tissue for diagnosing the arrhythmia. It also restores normal heart rhythms by isolating and destroying the arrhythmia-causing tissue using radio frequency energy, referred to as ablation. The microcatheter are also designed with variable stiffness and highly flexible distal tips that enhance access to the vasculature of the heart.
