The group's principal activity is to develop, manufacture and market microturbine generator sets used for on-site power production and as an auxillary power source in hybrid electric vehicles. The products of the group include major design features such as patented air-bearing technology, air-cooling, digital power electronics and advanced combustion technology. The model c30 capstone microturbine generates 30 kilowatts of electric power as a stand-alone power source or grid-connected while the capstone 60 family generates 60 kilowatts. They use a broad range of gaseous and liquid fuels in an environmentally friendly manner. The group also offers various accessories including rotary gas compressors with digital controls, batteries with digital controls for stand-alone or grid-connected operations and packaging options. South coast air quality management district, California and the los angeles department of water and power are two major customers of the group.
