The group operates in 21 states and the district of columbia through its network of 4,277 banking centers, 13,241 ATMs located in 30 countries. It operates through four segments: consumer and commercial banking, asset management, global corporate and investment banking and equity investments. The services include deposit products, lending loans, investment banking, capital markets, and leasing and financial advisory services. The products and services are provided to individuals, small businesses, middle market companies, financial institutions and government entities. The operations are carried out in the United States, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. During the year 2004, the group acquired direct access financial corp and fleetboston financial corporation.
