The group's principal activity is the subcontracting of semiconductor packaging and test services. The group operates in two business segments: the packaging and test services segment provides complete and integrated set of semiconductor packaging and test services. The packaging services are divided into three families, traditional leadframe, advanced leadframe and laminate. The major customers of the group are atmel corporation, infineon technologies ag, intel corporation, lsi logic corporation, mediatek inc, philips electronics n v, st microelectronics pte, sony semiconductor corporation, toshiba corporation and xilinx inc. The group operates in the United States, China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Philippines. The wafer fabrication services was discontinued and sold in Feb, 2003. On 24-Aug-2004, the group acquired unitive inc and 60% majority interest in unitive semiconductor Taiwan corporation.
