The group primarily deals in flue-cured, burley, and oriental tobaccos that are used in international brand cigarettes. The group acts as a merchant to large multinational cigarette manufacturers and provides agronomy expertise and financing for growing leaf tobacco in certain developing markets. The tobacco is processed to meet each customer's specifications regarding the quality, yield, chemistry, particle size, moisture content and other characteristics. The tobacco is purchased in 40 countries and is processed in facilities in 29 countries. The group ships tobacco to manufacturers of cigarettes and other consumer tobacco products located in approximately 90 countries around the world.
