The group's principal activities are to develop, license and provide products for the media technology and life science sectors. The group operates through two segments: media technologies and life sciences, through its subsidiaries, acacia media technologies group and combimatrix corporation and advanced material sciences, inc respectively. The media technologies segment includes intellectual property related to a television blanking system known as the v-chip, as well as audio and video transmission and receiving systems. The life sciences segment is developing a proprietary biochip array processor system that integrates semiconductor technology with new developments in biotechnology and chemistry.
