The group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market optical components. The group also develops fiber optic components for metro and access communications networks, gallium nitride (gan) and optoelectronics. The dwdm optical components enable fiber optic networks to transmit data simultaneously on several wavelengths of light within each optical fiber of cable. Other products include optical lens systems, optical thin film coatings, optical windows and flats, ultraviolet detectors etc. Currently, the group's research and development activities are focused in the areas of compound semiconductor electronic devices and components and modules for fiber optics networks. The group trade names are sun (uv) and truvmeter (TM).
