Andy Shinn is a Principal focused on U.S. buyout investments in the aerospace, defense, technology and business services sectors. He is based in Washington, DC. Mr. Shinn was instrumental in the recent acquisition of Standard Aero Holdings, Inc. He is also a founding member of Carlyle Asia and was based in Hong Kong and Seoul for several years. While in Asia, Mr. Shinn played a leading role in the successful investment in Koram Bank.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Shinn was an Associate at Generation Partners, a $325 million private equity firm based in New York. Prior to joining Generation Partners, he was an Analyst at UBS Capital, the private equity investment unit of Union Bank of Switzerland.

Mr. Shinn received his B.S. in finance as a cum laude graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mr. Shinn is a member of the Board of Directors of Standard Aero Holdings, Inc.
