Alister Christopher is the senior vice president of Worldwide Events, a $150 million division of Gartner that is one of the largest organizers of professional conferences in the IT industry. He is responsible for ensuring strong, profitable growth of the Events business by delivering a client-focused experience to the 35,000 senior executives and sponsors that attend the company's 70+ conferences and symposia held around the world each year.
Christopher has been with Gartner for more than 12 years and was appointed to the senior corporate management team in 2004. Prior to leading Events, Christopher was group vice president of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) sales region. He also led the EMEA and Americas inside sales forces and was director of sales operations.
Prior to joining Gartner, Alister spent 10 years in the IT industry with, among others, ICL Corporation.
Christopher studied business management at Swansea College in the U.K.
