Alan Etterman is responsible for JDSU's corporate services organizations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Workplace Solutions, Customer Service and the Corporate Program Office. As part of JDSU's Executive Management team he has been integral in JDSU's transformation to a portfolio corporate structure and the creation of the JDSU Business System Platform.

Before joining JDSU he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Infrastructure and CIO at Openwave Systems where he was part of the Executive Management team that was focused on the company's transformation to profitability. In 2001, he co-founded and was Chief Operating Officer for TheoryR Capital Partners a technology based hedge fund. Prior to that, Etterman was Cisco's Senior Director of Global communications and technology services where he implemented the world's first large scale (10,000+ lines) voice over Internet protocol communications system. Etterman's experience also includes management roles at 3Com Corporation, IBM RealCom, LinCom, InteCom, and GTE Automatic Electric.
