Mr. Stagen is of counsel at Carrington Coleman, and her practice covers a broad range of litigation and general business matters, with particular emphasis on labor and employment litigation. Ms. Stagen has represented employers in arbitration, state court, and federal court, primarily involving employment discrimination, wrongful discharge claims, and non-competition/trade secret disputes. Ms. Stagen also has experience obtaining temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief in situations involving theft of trade secrets and confidential information. Ms. Stagen's non-litigation practice includes the counseling of employer clients on a variety of issues, including the development and implementation of employee policies, discharge issues, medical leave issues, worker's compensation issues, and other disciplinary and benefit-related matters. Ms. Stagen has experience representing investment firms and clearing firms in the area of securities litigation. She has defended investment and clearing firms against claims brought by customers of the firms and claims brought by former employees, including claims of breach of contract and compensation disputes. She has also defended corporate officers against insider trading actions and security fraud claims brought as class actions. The balance of Ms. Stagen's litigation practice involves a variety of business disputes, including real estate litigation, contract cases, non-compete suits, and personal injury claims. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Ms. Stagen was named by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Rising Star" in Texas law. Ms. Stagen was admitted to practice in Texas in 1997. |
